Sports The console-based Japanese language sports game Jiikyoo Powafuru Pro Yakkyu 6 (Announcing Powerful Pro Baseball 6) has been implemented in experimental CALL research (deHaan 2005). In this baseball game, players encounter a simulation of a baseball stadium that is populated by cartoon players based on Japanese anime designs. Three announcers appear in the game: an umpire who calls the pitches, a male commentator who provides a running commentary, and a female stadium announcer who introduces each batter and comments on their batting statistics.
